Solar Plexus Chakra Alchemy of the Body

Today I want to focus on the actual processes and relations between the body of the Solar Plexus Chakra area. I will review the body organs, and meridians that energetically affect this Manipura Chakra of Will, Identity, and Self Realization.

Excited Mars Rules the Solar Chakra

Before I studied Alchemy with respect to Astrology recently, I always thought that the Sun would rule the “solar chakra”. But it is actually Mars that Rules the Solar Plexus Chakra. It wasn’t until I learned more about the energy of the Solar Plexus throughout the body that I recognized the strong atonement to Mars values, activity, and function throughout the body, mental world, cosmos, and spiritual realms of the Universe.

In previous posts, I explained the energetic and mental world.

In my study, I quickly recognized that our 3D reality is linked to our 3rd Chakra. We no longer live in a state of constant duality, since we now know that our Heart is connected to our thoughts and feelings. We understand that through the singularity of heart thinking and the duality of our brain thinking, that we are Mental Beings on Earth. It is within the 3rd density of our selves and our life that we find our Will to Live. As well as the Shadow Self, and Ego Identity that defines our mental expression into the matter. This is where the loony Mystics (or Occult practice) meets Neuropsychology through Physics. And Body-Mind sciences meets Cosmology through Chemistry.

If you ‘skip’ earth as we do in Astrology, Mars is the 3rd planet but is farther from the source of Sun than the others before it, including Earth. If we consider that the Sun rules the Crown chakra, as we move down we have 3 other chakras to get through, from the 7th to the 3rd. Considering geometry, this is a really interesting picture in both the micro (within) and macro worlds.

The Organs & Functions Within the Solar Plexus Chakra

The organs found within the Solar Plexus Chakra are the Adrenals, Pancreas, Gallbladder, Liver, and Stomach. The solar plexus is actually called the Celiac Plexus, an entire nervous system held at the bottom of your rib cage.

Some say that the Face and Eyes are also highly associated with this chakra energy because it is how we visually express our thoughts and feelings to the outer world, from the inner world. With or without conscious control, we use our face to express ourselves in a multitude of ways. Can you imagine what it would be like if our face didn’t change when we are sad or happy? It would be quite difficult to know each other well at all!

“The celiac plexus or coeliac plexus, also known as the solar plexus because of its radiating nerve fibers,[1] is a complex network of nerves (a nerve plexus) located in the abdomen, near where the celiac trunk, superior mesenteric artery, and renal arteries branch from the abdominal aorta. It is behind the stomach and the omental bursa, and in front of the crura of the diaphragm, on the level of the first lumbar vertebra. The plexus is formed in part by the greater and lesser splanchnic nerves of both sides, and fibers from the anterior and posterior vagal trunks. The celiac plexus proper consists of the celiac ganglia with a network of interconnecting fibers. The aorticorenal ganglia are often considered to be part of the celiac ganglia, and thus, part of the plexus.” – Wiki of Celiac Plexus

(You can read about this in more detail medically from the sources listed below this post as well.)

The Pancreas produces enzymes and steroids for a multitude of functions that basically serve to keep things moving and active within. From processing food and digestion to acting upon sexual attraction impulses upon meeting someone.

The Adrenal Glands produce really interesting hormones and functions as well.

“Hydrocortisone: Commonly known as Cortisol, it regulates how the body converts fats, proteins, and carbohydrates to energy. It also helps regulate blood pressure and cardiovascular function.
Corticosterone: This hormone works with hydrocortisone to regulate immune response and suppress inflammatory reactions.
The principle mineralcorticoid is aldosterone, which maintains the right balance of salt and water while helping control blood pressure.
There is a third class of hormone released by the adrenal cortex, known as sex steroids or sex hormones. The adrenal cortex releases small amounts of male and female sex hormones. However, their impact is usually overshadowed by the greater amounts of hormones (such as estrogen and testosterone) released by the ovaries or testes.
[…] Epinephrine: Most people know epinephrine by its other name—Adrenaline. This hormone rapidly responds to stress by increasing your heart rate and rushing blood to the muscles and brain. It also spikes your blood sugar level by helping convert glycogen to glucose in the liver. (Glycogen is the liver’s storage form of glucose.)
Norepinephrine: Also known as noradrenaline, this hormone works with epinephrine in responding to stress. However, it can cause vasoconstriction (the narrowing of blood vessels). This results in high blood pressure.” – Endocrine Web

To sum that up, we could say that the Adrenals are highly related to the energy of the Solar Plexus Chakra and Mars. Their function is to produce the energy, activity, and hormones to help our Soul survive within the world, with our Will to live, love, and serve within the world at large.

Where the Root Chakra and Saturn are really only concerned with the needs of survival. The Sacral Chakra of Jupiter grows and expands and digests the needs and the wants from within.

It’s the Solar Plexus Chakra of Mars that takes these energies and brings them in to form identity which is then presented to the world through the body, expression, and will of yourself.

The Liver & Gallbladder Meridians and their Importance to the Energy of Your Conditional Solar Identity

Not only do we contend with the Ego and Shadow selves within this Solar Plexus Chakra. But we also have to consider the Yang of the Gallbladder Meridian, and the Yin of the Liver Meridian.

The Liver Meridian is responsible for filtering, detoxifying, nourishing, replenishing, and storing blood. It also helps to regulate the amount of blood circulating, withdrawing and storing it when resting or sleeping, and releasing it during exercise.

The Gallbladder Meridian is much more noteworthy in its complexity and path, as seen in the image here.

Gallbladder Meridian
Gallbladder Meridian figure in Energy Medicine by Donna Eden

In researching this chakra, I have identified some symptoms that are linked to some of my feelings and the areas of my body that match the Gallbladder Meridian. What that means for me, is that I can begin to trace them and work on improving both the Liver and Gallbladder Meridians. Since I know also what feelings and emotional memories are associated, I should be able to heal myself energetically within my mind.

By bringing my body and mind to a place of the positive healing intention and harmonizing these energies manually. If I currently have any Gallbladder (organ) concerns, they should clear themselves up now. With confidence, I can say that I expect to see a huge improvement to my back pain in the coming weeks. Its worth noting that I can do this also because I love Myself, and my intentions to heal are sound within my path.

Donna Eden talks a lot about how tracing the meridians can have a huge impact on your overall health of body and mind. I’ll always source this book when talking about Energy Medicine. Below is a short 2-minute movie of an energy healer that traces the meridians with related affirmations. This is the routine that I learned and try to do daily, along with other exercises from Energy Medicine. I honestly plan to learn and practice energy testing, and tracing techniques to be able to help people personally heal. I have a huge interest in both hypnosis and point holding. Things you can expect to see me doing and talking about in the coming year a lot more. Until then, I will continue to practice, heal myself, and learn all I can to share with you all along the way.
