This page will introduce you to Local Space Astrology. The different energies that are within the constellations and perhaps create the influences that we feel through astrology. We’ll explore the science as well as the spiritual basis of the universe itself. And everything that is within it.
This page is under construction and will continue to grow as I confirm new associations. The images, software, and content used to create this page are listed at the bottom. Links found through out the page are likely to open a new window to a wiki-type page for further reading.
This page is not limited to just scientific, or astrologic considerations that are mentioned under each sign.
The order of information for each sign is generally: messier objects/galaxies, nearby constellations, specific stars or stellar objects by name, other energies
The Big Picture
“The Symbol is Real
– Essay on History.” Michael Erlewine, Emerson
A study of the structure of the universe, at any level, is a study of ourselves, of our life. The guidelines of cosmic structure only help to illustrate the specific structure of our self. In summary, the idea that I am elaborating here is: Astrology is not only a symbolic system of psychological discussion. That symbol is also, in fat, real. If we say it is an analogy, then the analogy is complete down to the limits of any specific example we might chose.
We are all time"Time; From Amit (Sanskrit), which means endless or immeasur... and space travelers. There are no better words that I know of that these of Emerson:
“All inquiry into antiquity is the desire to do away with this wild, savage, and preposterous ‘There’ or ‘Then’, and introduce in its place, the ‘Here’ and the ‘Now’. Belzoni (an archeologist) digs and measures in the mummy-pits and pyramids of Thebes until he can see the end of the difference between the monstrous work and himself. When he has satisfied himself, in general and in detail, that it was made by such a person as he, so armed and so motivated, and to the ends to which he, himself, should also have worked, the problem is solved, his thought lives along the whole line of temples and sphinxes and catacombs, passes through them all with satisfaction, and they live again to the mind, or are NOW.”

“Cosmic Systems and Centers:
SOLAR SYSTEM – Center: Sun
LOCAL SYSTEM (Gould’s Belt) – This is a group of some 10 to the 8th stars of which the Sun is a member. The Local System, originally thought to be a minute"Minute; Arises from two goddess names, Min (moon) and Nut (... galaxy embedded with the Milky Way, is considered to be an ellipsoid of 700×200 parsecs with the long axis parallel to the New Galactic Longitudes (160-deg/340-deg) and located in Orion-Cygnus spiral arm. The centroid of the Local System is in Virgo at about 15 deg 25′ with nodes to the Ecliptic at 10 deg 22′ of Sagittarius (North node) and Gemini. The system is inclined to the ecliptic by about 66 degrees. Note – positions are of the Epoch 1950.
LOCAL GALAXY (The Milky Way) – Estimated to contain 10 to the 11th stars, the Galaxy is a disc-like structure with a diameter of some 30000 parsecs, a central ellipsoidal nucleus of about 4000 parsecs, and an average disc thickness of several hundred parsecs. The nodes and center (about 26 deg of Sagittarius) in relation to the ecliptic are given elsewhere. The Sun is located some 10,000 from the Galactic Center.
LOCAL GROUP OF GALAXIES – The local group includes about a score of member galaxies, the largest of which is the Andromeda Galaxy (M31). Our galaxy and M31 revolve around a common center of mass roughly in the direction of 27 degrees in the Sign of Aries.
LOCAL SUPERGALAXY – Our Galaxy is part of a vast flattened super system of galaxies some 40 megaparsecs in diameter, with the center (at 1 deg Libra) in the great Virgo Cluster some 12-16 megaparsecs form our Sun.”

We will go ahead and put some of this into the “Astrology” perspective so that we can grasp just how much more astronomy has to offer us today. I have found that one of the most useful ways for me, is to list what we can find within each constellation in sidereal astrology settings.
